Design Featuring Shigeru Ban & Mark Farrow

Mallorcan shoe company CAMPER are a fascinating brand - unique, bold, hard to define and completely original. In 2011 they brought this to the Volvo Ocean Race, the most gruelling team sport in the world, somehow combining this hardcore, extreme race with their leftfield identity. It was an interesting mix and for us a great opportunity to flex our creative muscles across a range of online content.

Design Featuring Shigeru Ban

Camper's arty, design focused edge brought a new, original angle to this rugged, no-holds-barred competition.

In this film, featuring world renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, we explore the design and development of the Camper Pavilion, a building that followed the race and was re-constructed at different ports around the world. It, like Camper, was the only thing like it on the dockside.

Design Featuring Mark Farrow

Camper imposed their original take on every aspect of their campaign.

Mark Farrow - famous for his graphic design on iconic album covers from Kylie Minogue to the Pet Shop Boys - was chosen to create the design of Camper's boat and sails. We produced this candid look at his design process, visiting him at his studio in Bloomsbury, London, and presented the story in a documentary style.
